Revamping of the shot blasting line at Trafilix Industries - Berzo
Trafilix Berzo Production Unit has been equipped with a brand new shot blasting line intended for sandblasting of hot-rolled bars.
This operation allows the calamine to be mechanically removed from the rolled raw material by means of powerful jets of steel grit.
The range goes from diameters 20 mm to diameters 80 mm on low-alloy steels.
Advantages during processing
The dust abatement system has been significantly improved; that means attention and responsibility towards the Planet.
The real novelty, however, is the installation of a laser system capable of identifying surface defects (cracks, flaking, etc.) in the hot-rolled material, thus ensuring automatic material selection. The same device is able to determine the effectiveness of the sandblasting and provide the adjustment parameters to the operators.
