CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY TRAINING – DISTRIBUTION UNITS

CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY. A necessity comparable to the purpose of a profit company: to do business over time. A commitment to present and future generations.

Talking about sustainability means reflecting on the sudden changes we are experiencing, both at environmental and supply chain level. Companies are called to take responsibility for their own impacts and to identify a path that leads them to analyze and manage their organization, generating efficient and qualitative mechanisms not only for economic results but also from the social and environmental point of view.

This topic will influence and modify the strategic assets as well as the logics of the steel supply chain, becoming a competitive factor in the market.
A paradigm shift is represented and imposed by the new European Directive CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), made official on November 28th 2022. The directive establishes new principles on sustainability reporting and extends the obligation to draw up a report to thousands of companies, as well as to disclose information on ESG topics. From January 1st 2025 companies such as the Lucefin Group will have to comply with the directive and to be subject to certification by an accredited independent third party body.

According to current dynamics, it becomes essential for every company to bring Sustainability internally, forming and returning to its collaborators a detailed picture of the evolutions that will impact the market and their work, but also of the actions undertaken by the organization in the present and for the future .

In quest’ottica è stata avviata un’attività formativa nei siti distributivi del Gruppo Lucefin in materia di “Sostenibilità d’Impresa”, un momento di ascolto e confronto tra aree e professionalità differenti.

During the day, we discussed about the meaning of Sustainability and the value of the Sustainability Report as a document for transparently communicating the Company's virtuous conduct in the environmental, social and governance fields to stakeholders, but also as a working tool for collaborators who will be able to use it to meet the market requests, including CO2 data and waste management.
We also focused on the welfare initiatives and contributions activated by the Group, in order to identify any improvements or proposals that can positively affect the quality of life of collaborators.

Besides the training project, an ESG data collection platform was implemented on the commercial sites, envisaging the involvement of site managers and other figures.

It is a system that brings together the industrial, financial and institutional worlds to involve and support companies in the process of measuring and growing the dimensions of sustainability.
Through the platform, it is possible to measure one's own performance as well as that of suppliers, comparing with benchmarks and identifying the priority actions to be implemented to improve and enhance one's reality.

The system will allow the Group to monitor the distribution sites and to facilitate the data collection for the Sustainability Report. At the same time it will be possible to obtain precise values about the production sites, for which a consolidated reporting mechanism is already in place.
