Why choose solar energy?
Two questions that generate a unique answer: solar energy is an efficient energy strategy that supports the company, reducing core business costs and dependence on the electricity grid, and at the same time the environment, reducing Scope 2 emissions which represent one of the largest sources of global greenhouse gas emissions. It is therefore a corporate sustainability choice oriented towards the future and attentive to the Planet, in line with the European Union's Net Zero objective set for 2050.
Clean and renewable energy – Trafilix Industries Berzo
Thephotovoltaic system installed in the Trafilix Industries Berzo production site, designed and built by the Starter Energy Srl company, covers an area of 6000sqm approximately, with a total of 1680 solar panels placed.
We opted for single crystal panels from 595Wp, characterized by technical specifications that ensure high reliability, robustness and manufacturability. The peak power is approx 1000 kW.
On to the studies carried out during the design phase, the following results are expected:
- possible clean energy production of approx 1.005.700 kWh/year, equivalent to an indicative reduction of 236,400 kg of CO2 emissions;
- coverage of approximately 12% of the overall requirement of Berzo site and of 7% for Trafilix Industries.
Solar energy from the Lucefin Group
In 2022, the Group embarked on a path towards clean renewable energy by designing and launching photovoltaic systems on various sites.
To date, the active systems are placed in the production sites of Trafilix Esine Production Unit, Trafilix Berzo Production Unit, and the distribution units Comet Acciai – Brescia, Nuova Bassani, KSM Stahl.
The feasibility and planning study for the Trafil Czech production site is also underway.
