In a year marked by growing awareness of environmental issues, Whatmatters – Lucefin Group ESG partner – decided to celebrate Christmas with a special gift: compensate CO₂ emissions generated by access to the Lucefin website in 2024.

Online platforms, servers and data management contribute significantly to the production of greenhouse gases, increasing the environmental impact.
The compensation of 294 kgCO₂eq generated by traffic on the Lucefin site was achieved by supporting the “Cordillera Azul National Park REDD Project” of Rete Clima.

The project aim at reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation in the primary forests between the Andes and the Amazon basin in central Peru, promoting the importance of conservation and sustainable management of forests in developing countries.
Among the actions in progress, the strengthening of the park protection strategy, the involvement of local communities and stakeholders in the management and financial sustainability of the park, the improvement of know-how for sustainable use of the territory. 

To confirm its support for the initiative and the compensation achieved, Lucefin obtained a certificate and identification logo.
